Welcome to the Modern Scribe online collection. I specialise in creative calligraphy design and wedding stationery. My work features a lot of mixed media with a focus on texture and tactility. This is the third year of the sell-out Modern Scribe Calligraphy Advent Calendar.
As in previous years, these calendars are ordered a full year in advance by their loyal fanbase, which means the 2024 calendar was officially sold out by January 2024!
Like last year , I am aiming for a very limited second run of Calligraphy Advent Calendars which will go on sale in November 2024. I am not promising anything as I will never compromise on quality in order to get more calendars out (these are not an off-the-shelf jobbie but a lovingly handcrafted item — a lot of planning and love goes into these calendars to make them a full festive experience).
BUT it does look at this stage like the second run will be going ahead and therefore you are very welcome to submit your details below to join the calendar waitlist. You will be informed as soon as the second run is confirmed and will receive an early access password so that you can shop before the calendar is released on general sale.
The calendar is a hybrid gift and project calendar which means you receive both the inks, nibs, tools and cardstock for creating with plus limited edition Christmas tutorials to guide you through exactly how I make beautiful festive paper goods like crackers, seasonal menus & placecards, and Christmas cards. This year we’ll be incorporating wax seals and watercolour to complement our calligraphy designs and learning how to use our calligraphy nibs themselves to illustrate.
The contents of the 2024 Calligraphy Advent Calendar are over £230 if purchased separately. The price of each advent calendar is £160.
The Calligraphy Advent Calendar is designed for both beginner calligraphers and more accomplished penmen. You will get the most out of your calendar if you have some foundational calligraphy skills and are familiar with the basic tools. If you don’t, I would encourage you to enrol on my beginners course alongside your advent calendar purchase.
